Scope

 

This Conference on Molecular Magnetism is planned as the main European forum for presentation and discussion of research results in all aspects related to molecular magnetism. It is an initiative created in the framework of the European Network of Excellence MAGMANet involving leading laboratories from 10 countries, but open to any researcher active in this field and particularly to those wishing to join the network.

All aspects of molecular magnetism, from the materials preparation, physical characterization and theory, will be considered and among them the following main topics:

  • Molecular nanomagnets

  • Switchable magnetic materials and optical magnets

  • Photo-induced magnetism

  • Conducting magnets

  • Molecular routes to nanostructured magnets

  • Modelling and theory

  • Materials processing

  • Devices and applications

  • New Materials

  • Instrumentation

 

Olivier Kahn International Award 

The MAGMANet Network of Excellence and the members of the Olivier Kahn Award International Jury have nominated the first  laureate of the Olivier Kahn International Award: Dr. Wolfgang Wernsdorfer for his  leading role in pushing decisively the knowledge on molecular magnetism to where we are now.

Dr. Wolfgang Wernsdorfer is at present Research Director at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Grenoble and he will give an invited lecture at ECMM 2006 in Tomar.
